According to the closed question statistics, ranking of Incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko has decreased from 48.3% to 43.6% for three months. This is evident by the results of a poll conducted by a public institution "Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies" in September 2010.

Rating of the incumbent president of Belarus on the question fell from 45.6% to 39%. However, the ratings of other Belarusian politicians, by contrast, have grown over the period. For example, Alexander Milinkevich rating rose from 9.9% to 12.1%, Alexander Kozulin — from 7.5% to 8.8%, Vladimir Niakliaeu — from 1.6% to 5.1%, Yaroslav Romanchuk — from 1% to 2.6%.

According to IISEPS, today 60% of voters express their confidence to participate in the upcoming elections. However, 25.6% of voters said they would «decide on their participation, depending on the political situation in the country.» Around 11.4% refused to take part in the presidential elections.

20.2% of voters plan to give their voices for opposition politicians, who registered their action groups in the CEC. At the same time 68.6% of Belarusians said they «would not vote for these politicians under any circumstances,» and 33.7% of Belarusians are ready to vote for Alexander Lukashenko in elections.

23.6% of Belarusians are going to vote for the incumbent president because «he has real power and can improve the situation in the country.» At the same time, 22.8% of respondents believe that the current president «expresses the interests of such people as the respondents themselves.»

53.3% Belarusians Have No Information About Potential Candidates, IISEPS

However, 53.3% of the respondents admitted that they had no information about potential candidates. The main source of such information for people is still television (25%). Only 10% of respondents find information about the applicants in the Internet.

IISEPS pollsters also asked Belarusians, if there is, in their view, the personality cult of President Alexander Lukashenko in the country. 35.4% of respondents answered positively, while 28% believe that the cult of personality is rather vague, but it’s likely to develop. At the same time, the question: «Do you think the fact that virtually all power in the country is now focused in the hands of Lukashenko, does no harm to Belarus or no good?» 44.1% responded positively, and negatively — 38.5%.

In total, more than 1.5 thousand people took part in the questioning, resulted in less than 3% representativeness error.
