Many enterprises of construction industry, except strategic ones, will be privatized in Belarus by 2011. It was reported on July 22 by deputy head of main department if industry, building materials and structures of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, Alexander Golesh.
«European standards and corporatization are main pluses to attract investment in construction enterprises», Alexander Golesh said, adding that the volume of investment, aimed at modernization of enterprises of construction industry, amounted to more than a trillion rubles over past five years.
«With current price of Russian gas, companies of construction industry of Belarus can not compete with their neighbors (Russia, Ukraine) in price», the representative of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction stressed, BelTA informs. As an example, Alexander Golesh named the selling price of cement, manufactured in Belarus, which 15-20 dollars per ton more expensive than cement, produced in Russia.
«Today, except the facilities of strategic importance for the Republic, we must carry out privatization in all the construction units, except Granit — this company is not for corporatization at the moment. Two cement plants (state-owned enterprises Krichevcementnoshifer and Belarusian cement works) are not for corporatization too. And all other plants — of bricks production and of cellular blocks production and production of precast concrete and other materials — will be corporatized by the end of 2011», Alexander Golesh underlined once again, PRIME -TASS informs.
At the same time, the representative of the ministry said that there could remain not corporatized a number of small companies, not strategic for the construction industry. «There are auxiliary enterprises, which produce steelwork, enterprises for crystal production (Glassworks Neman, Borisov Crystal Factory). They may not be corporatized», Alexander Golesh said.
