Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov signed the official letters addressed to the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In the letters the observers are invited to the presidential elections in Belarus. This was announced on September 16 by the Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh.

FM spokesman stressed that Belarus limited neither the length of stay, nor the number of international observers. Andrei Savinykh noted that this indicates an intention to conduct open and transparent elections in accordance with the international requirements.

The Foreign Ministry explained that all organizational and technical issues would be solved later in accordance with the proven procedures.

As Telegraf informed, representatives of the Central Election Commission of Belarus  pledged to allow international observers full freedom of action in the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus. «We give them the opportunity to observe objectively and freely the elections,» Nikolai Lozovik, CEC secretary, said.
