Mass-Media Not to Cause Strife, Lukashenko

Information field shouldn't be an arena of causing interstate, social or religious strife. It was declared by the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this in his complimentary address to the participants of V Belarusian international media forum "Partnership for future", the press-service of the head of the state informed.

«I welcome with all my heart the forum which has gathered in Belarus the representatives of media communities of the near and distant lands in the year of the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory. There is a reason to name the journalists the fourth power. The development of the whole states, and mutual understanding between the various nations and people depend on your professional skills and talents, and the main thing, adherence to the principles and truthfulness», the Belarusian leader said in his complimentary address.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, under conditions of «openness thanks to the media information technologies, the society today, like never before, needs creating role of journalists, their possibility and ability to positively influence the quality of modern people life».

In the complimentary address the President expressed hope that this anniversary meeting «will favour strengthening of Belarus interaction with the other states, will help to generate an objective opinion about our perfect country».
