The minister of internal affairs of Latvia, where the temporary Kyrgyz authorities had requested to extradite Maxim Bakiyev, said that the son of the Kyrgyz president is out of the country. According to unofficial information of Latvian news agency LETA, Bakiyev Jr. went to Belarus, where his father, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, stays.

However, there is no official data on crossing the border with Belarus, and another version assumes that Maxim Bakiev could go to one of the Latin American countries which do not extradite people on Interpol request, Kommersant reports.
Latvian Minister, Linda Mūrniece, herself suggested that the Kyrgyz president’s son could go to one of the countries of the Schengen zone because Latvia has no checkpoints on that border.

«I can say with confidence: if Bakiev was in Latvia, the state police officers would have already detained him, because last week we carried out large-scale search operations in those places where Bakiev could be», the head of Latvian Interior Ministry said.
