MAZ and KAMAZ to be Merged, Putin

Assets of the largest manufacturers of heavy trucks in Belarus and Russia - MAZ and KAMAZ - will be merged. This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during the Belarusian-Russian negotiations on March 15. "The creation of this alliance will help create competitive products of the Belarusian and Russian enterprises, new jobs," he said. 

«This is a significant step in the integration processes between Belarus and Russia in relation to the real economy,» said the Russian Prime Minister, noting that the parties had «a lot of good investment projects,» BelaPAN.

Belarus Outstripped Russia, Putin

Putin also said that Belarus had outstripped Russia in export and import of products. «Russian exports to Belarus grew by 8% last year, while Belarusian commodity imports in Russia — by more than 46%,» he said, stressing that the countries intended to enter the balanced scorecard.

According to the head of the Russian government, the parties have made progress in establishing the Customs Union and Common Economic Space. «We have surprisingly quickly and qualitatively prepared their fundamental elements,» he said.

According to him, the agreement will further strengthen the Belarusian-Russian relations. In turn, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich said that the countries had agreed NPP construction. He is convinced that Belarus and Russia will reach a similar cooperation in the oil and gas industry.»
