Meat and Milk Grow in Price in Belarus

In Belarus, on 16 September the increased limit sale prices for beef, pork, milk and dairy products. It was reported in the Ministry of Economy of Belarus. Thus, according to the decision of the Ministry, in September and October 2010, limit prices for beef increased to 4% per month, up to 3% per month for pork.

Limit sale prices for milk, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese have been increased by 2% more. The Ministry of Economy explained this decision had been adopted in order to compensate prices’ increase for dairy and meat products step-by-step, as well as to bring these products’ prices closer to the prices in neighboring countries. Furthermore, the increase of sale prices is caused by corresponding increase of purchase prices for milk, cattle and pigs.

As Telegraf previously reported, the previous rise in prices of dairy products and meat occurred in mid July this year. Then, the Ministry of Economy raised sale prices of dairy product, beef and pork by 3%.
