Russian President Dmitri Medvedev stated in his microblog on November 24 that he treated Belarusian presidential elections with "the greatest respect." The Russian leader did not respond to the question of a Belarusian subscriber about his attitude to the Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko. "I have nothing to add about your president," Medvedev said.

According to Telegraf, the Russian president commented on the relations between Belarus and Russia in details in his video blog on October 3. Among other things, Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia had been providing tremendous financial support to Belarus for 20 years.

In addition, the Russian leader said that Lukashenko «should deal with internal problems» and added that «Lukashenko goes far beyond not only the diplomatic rules, but also basic human decency» in his statements about the Russian head of state.
