Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, counts on mutual compromises during the upcoming talks with Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, scheduled on Friday, June 11. "I hope that we make certain steps towards each other, but a lot is to depend on the position of our partners", Dmitry Medvedev said, adding that he's "always waiting for something from the meetings with Alexander Lukashenko".

«I hope that today we could reach some progress on a number of issues», Russia’s president said. «The main, for sure, is our movement towards integration, namely the parameters’ harmonization to launch the Customs Union’s work and our further move towards common economic space».

The Russian president also added that it was planned to discuss «even more complicated issues», including «all kinds of supplies, existing duties», RIA Novosti informs.

As Telegraf previously reported, the main topic of negotiations will be the functioning of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. Two countries’ leaders are to discuss other topical issues of bilateral Belarus-Russia cooperation.

Before that, Belarusian leader and Dmitry Medvedev in a telephone conversation outlined an approximate list of the topics which they are going to discuss in Moscow. Alexander Lukashenko expressed the hope that the dialogue would be maximally concrete and effective.
