This was stated by Press Secretary of the Ministry Andrei Savinykh. "If the situation develops according to the negative scenario, we will be ready to take retaliatory point measures, especially in respect of those politicians and structures which are the generators of anti-Belarusian activity," he said.
«It’s relevant to talk about the retaliatory measures when there is a real need for their introduction. Now we are doing our best not to let the EU Council implement calls of the European Parliament. And if our efforts are implemented positively and our partners are sensible in their actions, then we might not have to response,» said Andrei Savinykh on ONT TV channel.
In addition, according to Andrei Savinykh, the official position of Foreign Minister towards the European Parliament resolution on the situation in Belarus, has already been made public. «First, we noted that the approach of the European Parliament is against the principles of good neighborliness, reminded the representative of the office. — Ministry of Foreign Affairs keeps on trying to get the dialogue back in a constructive direction with those European partners who support it.»
«Sanctions do not bring the desired results, said Andrei Savinykh. — And a very large number of social groups, politicians and thinkers in Europe understand the futility of this trend.
