Alexander Milinkevich, the leader of Za Svabodu (For Freedom) Movement, the nominee for presidential candidate of Belarus in 2011, called himself in interview to the Lithuanian mass-media the leader of the Proeuropean forces of Belarus. He declared that his purpose is joining of Belarus in the European Union. Besides, the politician considers that in the relations with Belarus Lithuania shouldn't start Realpolitik (real policy).

Speaking about chances of oppositional candidates on the future presidential election, Alexander Milinkevich said that in Belarus there are no real elections in the western understanding of this word. «In election committees there are no representatives of the independent candidates. The commissions actually don’t calculate the voices, but write reports «as it should be». That’s why we participate not in the elections, but in a political campaign», the leader of Za Svabodu Movement said, DELFI informs.

«I know that the existing regime won’t ever win free, fair, equal elections. It has exhausted its creditworthiness. The existing economic and political model has no prospects and the majority of the Belarusians understands it. However, even, if there are little chances, we will battle for victory», Alexander Milinkevich said.

«Today we struggle not only for human rights and freedom. In Belarus the question of geopolitical choice is being solved. The majority of democratic forces supports the European way of development. But the opposition part insists on integration with Russia, introduction of the Russian rouble, recognition of Ossetia and Abkhazia. We both are united, since we are against dictatorship», the nominee for presidential candidate emphasized.

According to Alexander Milinkevicha, the opposition supporting the European way of development and the opposition, aimed at integration with Russia, have diametrically different lines of thought about Belarus. Some of them want to see it independent and European, the others as a satellite of east neighbour. «It is common fact that, most likely, there will be three main candidates on the elections, i.e. Lukashenko, Proeuropean and Prorussian candidates», the leader of Za Svabodu Movement said.
