Ministry of Energy develops measures for the operation of gas and electricity supply systems of the Republic under conditions of limited "blue fuel" supplies to Belarus, realized by Russian gas monopoly. It was stated by the spokesperson of Energy Ministry, Lyudmila Zenkovich.

The ministry representative confirmed the information that on June 21 from 10:00 (Moscow time) Gazprom «imposed limitations on natural gas supply to Belarus’ consumers by 15% of the planned volume», BelTA informs.

«In this regard, the Ministry of Energy conducts some activity to prevent malfunction of the power system», Lyudmila Zenkovich emphasized.

Gas supply’s limitation is illegal and groundless, Beltransgaz

In their turn, in Beltransgaz they consider as «illegal and groundless» the decision to limit Russian gas supplies to Belarus, taken by Gazprom, Russian service of BBC informs.

«Our position is that taken limitation of gas supply to Belarus is illegal and groundless, it has no documental basis», Beltransgaz representative declared.

As Telegraf already reported, First Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus, Eduard Tovpenets, stated that taken by Russia decision to cut gas supplies by 85% for Minsk’s non-payment of debt did not meet the volume of supplies limitations, mentioned in the contract.

«Belarus’ position is that 85% is a misinterpretation of the contract, where it’s stipulated that limitation is imposed in proportion. This is a fundamental issue, which is interpreted by the Russian side in other way», first deputy minister stressed.
