Ministry of Justice adopted on May 14 a resolution amending the requirements for legal entities' names. According to the document, it's banned to position legal entity as the leader of particular industry (activity) on the basis of its name.

Legal entities are prohibited to use «best», «first» and «unique» and similar words in any gender, case or number in their names, the press office of Justice Ministry reported on May 18.

The decree of Ministry of Justice № 31 «On making additions and amendments to the decree of Ministry of Justice on March 5, 2009 № 20» also contains other innovations. Thus, the agreement of legal entities names, containing the names of already existing legal entities, will be made only with the permission of the existing legal entity. For example, the company’s name Atlant-Brest will be agreed only with the permission of JSC Atlant.

There will be also allowed to use an established acronym SOS in Latin letters in the names of socio-educational institutions — children’s villages (towns). This rule is introduced in the decree because of the numerous requests of Belarusian Foundation SOS-Children’s Village.
