Ministry of Trade Calls on to Improve the Quality of Social Advertisement

Belarusian Ministry of Trade called on representatives of the advertising business to improve the requirements for the production and placement of social advertisement, as well as to improve its quality. In the Ministry of Trade reported that under the concept of development of Belarus' advertising market for the period till 2014, the state institutions have the task to establish a mechanism for funding the production of social ads.

Belarusian Deputy Minister of Trade, Irina Narkevich, noted that the work to improve the quality of social advertisement and its effectiveness should be carried out now. That’s why, according to the ministry representative, the state bodies have a task to develop a draft resolution of Belarus’ government on the production and placement of social advertisement.

Basing on that, Ministry of Trade offered public institution, placing social promotion, to work on the appointment of official responsible for keeping the issues of social ads till the decree adopted. The web-sites of state agencies should contain information about an official responsible for keeping the issues of social ads.

The ministry also proposed to determine the order of interaction between state institution and people, who applies with initiatives to create and place social ads. State agencies were invited to cooperate with Ministry of Trade and Commission on social advertisement and ethics of advertisement at the interdepartmental council on advertisement when developing models and scripts of social ads.

Ministry of Trade offers to realize the creation of social ads on the most relevant and important nation-wide topics. It is also proposed to plan combined placement of social ads on particular topic throughout the country’s territory (excluding replication of social ads on the same topic by Republican authority institutions and local executive bodies).
