Minsk to Expand of 30 Thousand Hectares by 2030

The territory of Minsk in 2030 will be expanded of more than 30 thousand hectares, said the chairman of Minsk regional executive committee Piotr Yarmosh at the meeting of Minsk Regional Executive Committee — considered the issue of the Minsk region's development. "According to recent estimates, approximately 31 thousand hectares of the Minsk region will be taken for development of the city in connection with adjustment of the capital master plan ", — said Petr Yarmosh.

«Four thousand hectares more, will be taken for the city development in accordance with the decree № 64», noted the chairman of Minsk regional executive committee. «As a result, Minsk district may be reduced by six or seven thousand hectares before 2015, and up to 35 thousand hectares by 2030».

Piotr Yarmosh informed that borders of a number of village councils will be also changed, including Novodvorsk, Senno, Schomyslitsa districts. It will cause reduction of agricultural lands. «The last three years, 2.8 thousand hectares of farmland were already taken by Minsk», said the chairman, according to BelTA.

«Minsk district is the largest and densely populated in the country, gross product forming for Minsk region. There are 18 rural councils, Machulishchy urban village, Zaslavl town (363 settlements, 324 summer colonies and gardener’s associations, in total) — where 170 thousand people live- located here», reminded Piotr Yarmosh.
