Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Shuvalov, said that Belarus' position in a dispute over duties on oil products, Minsk demands to cancel, had no legal grounds. According to the curator of the Customs Union's issue in Russian government, it was confirmed by the decision of the CIS Economic Court, issued on September 7.

«We initially thought that there were no legal grounds to solve the case in favor of Minsk. We insist on the rightness of our position, basing on those international treaties signed when forming the Customs Union», RIA Novosti quotes Igor Shuvalov.

As Telegraf previously reported, on September 7, the CIS Economic Court refused to satisfy the petition of Belarus to Russia on the imposition of a temporary ban to levy export duties on petroleum products supplied to Belarus.

The next session of the Economic Court will be held on October 7, 2010. By this time, the court suggested Russia and Belarus to reach mutually beneficial out-of-court resolution of the dispute.
