More Belarusians to Get under Visa Ban from March 21, German Foreign Office

European Union expands a list of Belarusian officials, banned to enter its territory, up to 19 people from March 21. This was stated at the meeting with the executive secretary of the organizing committee for the creation of the "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Dennis Sadovski on March 16, said a spokeswoman for the German Foreign Susanne Schutz. 

According to her, the visa ban will affect primarily the judges, who passed sentence on the case of December 19, reported the press service of the BCD.

In addition, Denis Sadovski met with the head of the Federal Chancellery and the Minister for Special Assignments of Germany Ronald Pofalla on March 16. German politician expressed his firm intention to continue exerting pressure on the regime of Alexander Lukashenko and stressed on the need to continue supporting democracy in Belarus. Among other things, Ronald Pofalla upheld the BCD decision on the next constituent assembly and pledged to contribute to its accession to the European People’s Party.

As Telegraf previously reported, a new package of the EU sanctions against Belarusian officials, including President Alexander Lukashenko, entered into force on February 2. The EU decided to freeze all assets and economic resources of 157 representatives of the Belarusian authorities. Visa sanctions were applied to 158 officials.
