The member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valentina Leonenko believes that one should prevent political heat and the split between Belarus and Russia and their friendly peoples. In this regard, she emphasized the enormous responsibility of politicians and journalists. And the latter, as she says, should become silent for the time.

According to another deputy Nikolai Kazak, the Belarusian-Russian conflict is based on economic factors. He believes that the situation should be resolved «not in public, but in silence, behind the closed doors, with the participation of competent persons,» communicating openly and honestly, with respect to one another. Media, as he says, should discreetly illuminate the relationship between the two countries, BelTA informs.

Deputies also reported that they intend to adopt a statement of the Belarusian-Russian relations at a joint meeting of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives on October 7.

As Telegraf reported, the State Duma of the Russian Federation issued a statement on the Russian-Belarusian situation on October 6. It expressed MPs’ concern over the recent situation of the two countries relations, supporting the position of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev though.
