National Banks of Belarus and Poland will develop a joint monetary policy

The National Banks of Belarus and Poland discussed the development of bilateral cooperation. Meetings between the Chairman of the National Bank of Belarus Piotr Prokopovich and the President of the National Bank of Poland Marek Belka took place August 12-13 in Brest. The parties were in favor of expanding cooperation in all areas of activity of the central banks of both countries.

The leaders of the National Banks of Belarus and Poland exchanged views on socio-economic development of the two countries and on the state and prospects of the banking system. The parties also discussed the results of the implementation of monetary policy and cooperation with international financial institutions, the representatives of the National Bank of Belarus informed. 
The parties noted that productive partnerships are formed in recent years between the central banks of Belarus and Poland. Cooperation in the field of bank staff training has been actively developed. In Poland, there are offices of Belarusbank, JSC BPS-Bank, Belinvestbank. Polish capital is present in the Belarusian banking system. 
Representatives of central banks in both countries supported the expansion of cooperation in all areas, especially in developing and implementing monetary policy, staff training, cross-border cooperation of the territorial offices of the two central banks. 
In addition, the parties came to the agreement on carrying on the regular visits of managers and experts, on training, on organizing sports events and other issues.
