Talks of the Belarusian leadership with Moscow on a loan "entered an active phase." This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the National Bank of Belarus, Nikolai Luzgin, on April 19. He noted that the consultations were currently underway, the parties were exchanging information for "rapprochement of their positions" and discussing the prospects of the Belarusian economy.

«Our experts will go to Moscow this week, while a meeting at the level of deputy heads of our financial institutions will be held on Friday,» BelTA quoted by Nikolai Luzgin.

According to the representative of the National Bank leadership, Belarus will be able to replenish reserves with EurAsEC credit. In addition, the situation on the domestic market will be improved and changed as well, he added.

Nikolai Luzgin has noted that Russia is a «major donor of EurAsEC crisis fund» and is ready to grant stabilization loan to Belarus through this fund.

Besides, the Russian side is now helping Belarus to work out a program of the country’s reforms. «This program of measures should solve the problem of foreign trade deficit on the basis of the restructuring of the Belarusian economy,» said deputy head of administration of the National Bank.

As Telegraf previously reported, Belarus asked the government of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Community in Crisis Fund for credits, totaling $3 billion. Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin has recently said that negotiations on the terms of financial and credit cooperation between Belarus and Russia can be completed within a month.
