Former presidential candidate Vladimir Niakliaeu is in the pre-trial prison. This was announced by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at a press conference for representatives of Belarusian and foreign media on Monday, December 20. "Ex-presidential candidate is in the pre-trial prison. You think we've kidnapped him and taken away somewhere? "No," Alexander Lukashenko said. "If one is guilty — be responsible," he added.

«639 people, connected with the unauthorized action, are currently kept in the detention facility. So there’s no need to talk about Niakliaeu. You’d better ask me about those whom they took there and provoked,» BelTA quoted Alexander Lukashenko.

At the same time Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that the vast majority of participants were no older than 20 years. «Basically, there were boys. Why did you take them there?» So you’d better ask about them. But I have answered the question: Mr Niakliaeu is in the remand center,» Alexander Lukashenko noted.

President of Belarus also reported that police were not to blame for the incident, taken place at Niamiha street in Minsk on December 19.

As Telegraf previously reported, unknown people in black clothes attacked the column of candidate Vladimir Niakliaeu at Nyamiha Street on the election day of December 19. The unknown «put» the demonstrators, moving towards Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk, down on the snow, took Aerophones out of a bus and then left in two cars. No one was detained. Presidential candidate Niakliaeu was beaten to unconsciousness during the capture. He was transported to the office.

At the same time, at night Vladimir Niakliaeu was taken by unknown people from hospital in a strange direction.
