Friday, May 20, court of Frunzenski district of Minsk passed the sentence upon the former presidential candidates Vladimir Niakliaeu and Vital Rymasheuski as well as four other opposition activists, defendants "in the case on December 19". Vladimir Niakliaeu was sentenced to two years of imprisonment with two-year suspense of execution, Vital Rymasheuski — to two years' imprisonment with two years' suspension of execution.
As the correspondent of Telegraf reports from the court room, the head of Niakliaeu’s electoral headquarters Andrei Dmitriev was sentenced to two years imprisonment with a probation period of two years, Niakliaeu’s trustees Alexander Feduta and Sergei Vozniak — to two years imprisonment with a two-year suspension of execution, the Deputy Head of the organization Malady Front (Young Front), registered in Czech Republic, Anastasia Palazhanka — to a year of imprisonment with a year of probation period.
Vladimir Niakliaeu was discharged from custody in the court room.
As Telegraf previously reported, on May 17 prosecutor Andrei Kozhevnikov asked the court of Frunzenski district of Minsk to sentence Vladimir Niakliaeu to three years imprisonment with two-year suspense of execution. For Vital Rymasheuski state prosecution claimed two years imprisonment with two years’ suspension of execution.
In addition, Andrei Kozhevnikov asked the judge to sentence Andrei Dmitriev to three years imprisonment with a probation period of two years, Alexander Feduta and Sergei Vozniak — to two years imprisonment with a two-year suspension of execution, Anastasia Palazhanka — to 18 months of imprisonment with a year of probation period.
