President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at a press conference for central and regional Belarusian media on June 17 that there is no crisis  in Belarus. "We have no crisis. There was panic, triggered foreign currency fever. I ordered to regulate prices. We are told that the economy itself regulates everything. But it is not regulated. We're offered the worst scenario of the economy," said state.

«People say, why the president didn’t cut some heads off, said Alexander Lukashenko. — I’m not a kid, not a boy, I’m able to see who is guilty and who will take responsibility. Even if the National Bank had issued too much money, I have outlined, what we spent this money on: winnowing and sowing machines, medicine — can get a new heart instead of the old one. Should the panic and currency fever put an end to the power? People wonder, when Lukashenko will slay anyone at last. If anyone is to blame, I will slay then.»

«We were the first to receive about 20 billion in foreign currency, to say nothing about the money, taken abroad by the population: returned the account can not be. We have no statistics and analysis for six months, how can I make a decision without any analysis,» said the president.

«Six months will be enough to «depress the pedal» with the statistics. I’ve been long silent, but Br5 for a dollar — it is overvalued. Meanwhile there is an excessive demand for it, as people have bought cars, clothes on the Cherkizovsky market (Cherkizovsky market was in Moscow — Telegraf). $1-2 billion is necessary to bring currency in the country. The main reason for the whole situation in our country is that we are buying more than selling,» noted Alexander Lukashenko.
