No incidents with Russian gas supplies are expected in Belarus. This was stated by First Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko on December 30. "There is no hurry in addressing this issue. We can consider it for at least two months. We do not expect any excesses in this matter," he said.

Vladimir Semashko also says that the first payment for Russian gas, supplied in January, is expected at the end of February. According to him, the Belarusian government is ready for transition to the equal gas pricing by 2011 in the Russian side interpretation, BelTA informs.

«We are the first of the three countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia — Telegraf) that are ready for these equal rates (in the Russian side interpretation) on January 1. We’ve addressed  Russia with this issue at different levels,» the first deputy prime minister said.

As Telegraf previously reported, «Gazprom» spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said on December 29 that the arrangements regarding the gas price reduction for Belarus in 2011 were currently unavailable. Nevertheless, Sergei Kupriyanov said that the current contract would allow the parties to avoid problems at the beginning of the year.
