The government of Belarus will not tolerate landslide price rise in the country and believes that the media pay too much attention to inflation. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich, introducing the Government Programme of Action for the next five years in Parliament. Also, the Premier said that Belarus would experience no revival of "wild capitalism."

«Of course, it affects everyone, but it’s not the government’s goal to mark up prices. It is a living economy, a living organism. But some landslide price growth is not planned in Belarus,» BelTA quoted the head of government.

According to Mikhail Miasnikovich, today «there is absolutely no preconditions for something to fall off or go up.» «We have a fairly stable economy. The economy is rising,» stressed the Belarusian Prime Minister.

As Telegraf previously reported, consumer prices increased by 1.4% in Belarus in January 2011 with a further 2.3% increase in the first half of February. However, according to the government plans, inflation should not exceed 8.5% in 2011.

Revenues from Privatization to be Used for Modernization of Enterprises, Miasnikovich

According to the Prime Minister, the government plans to allocate the proceeds from the shares’ sale to the modernization of the existing enterprises and creation of the new ones. «It’s no less necessary and effective business to sell one to create another. There will be a normal attitude towards privatization when a common person really sees this process,» the head of the Belarusian government.

Miasnikovich Explained what’s Needed for Surplus

The Prime Minister also touched upon the problem of foreign trade surplus in 2015. According to him, the government knows what to do to achieve this goal despite some not groundless fears over this issue.

In particular, it is planned to lower imports with simultaneous export growth due to greater use of local raw material resources and development of high value-added and low-import production.

Government Ready to Introduce Flexible Labor Payment for Workers and their Employers

As an incentive to build up Belarusian exports, Government suggested flexible labor payment for workers and their employers at all levels as a self-supporting sector in the payroll organizations. The Council of Ministers intended to appeal to the President and the Parliament with uch a proposal, said the Prime Minister.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, «big bonus,» like salary increases for managers of commercial organizations, are invited to link not only with the current results of exports performance, but also to the effectiveness of innovative projects.

As a result of Prime Minister’s performance, deputies approved an action program of the Government for 2011-2015.
