No Need For Oman's Mobile Operator, Ministry of Communication says

The Ministry of Communications and Informatization noted that, at the time, they doesn’t examine the question of fifth mobile operator’s creation in Belarus. Representatives of the Ministry of Communications reported that there is no need in creation of new mobile operator and procurement of foreign capital — particularly, from Oman — for that purpose. That’s why, there is no negotiations conducted with foreign companies on the subject. 

The chairman of State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus, Igor Voitov, during his visit to Oman said that the Omani businessmen — working in the field of telecommunications — interested in investing in Belarus. «They are interested in the issue related to the possible creation of new mobile operators in our country. Such proposals must also be examined. The more companies on the market, the higher competition and lower prices for services «, said Igor Voitov.

The specialist marked that it could be talked about the establishment of a mobile operator or Internet services provider, informs BelTA.

Today, in Belarus there are four mobile operators –the three are presented in the market of GSM-connection. Operator Diallog provides EV-DO technology services for its clients.
