Presidential Administration of Belarus commented on the statement of the presidential candidate Yaroslav Romanchuk that senior officials had offered him the post of Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister. According to an official of the administration, the Office responded to the words of the candidate for president "with a smile."

«And why not the president? If it were not for the elections, he would have dreamed of having been offered the presidency? You may say: «Employees of the presidential press service have responded to these statements with a smile.» May be, so to speak — it is vague,» «European Radio for Belarus» quoted a representative of the Presidential Administration.

Officer of the Presidential Press Service also added that the administration knew about the statement of Yaroslav Romanchuk, but it hadn’t been discussed at a serious level.

According to Telegraf, presidential candidate of the United Civil Party Yaroslav Romanchuk was offered by authorities to take over as Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister to be responsible for issues of economic reforms. As reported by the candidate on December 13, two officers of the Presidential Administration made him such an offer a week ago. Yaroslav Romanchuk refused to name the authorities, explaining that the meeting was informal.
