Nobody Knows about Union State Abroad, Borodin

On July, 10th Pavel Borodin, State Secretary of the Union State, stated at the press conference in Vitebsk within the limits of the international festival of arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" that Union State Belarus and Russia needed information promotion abroad. "I am shocked, but nobody knows about the Union State abroad ", Pavel Borodin said.

According to the State Secretary, everyone considers that Russia and Belarus are competitors. «Meanwhile we have been uniting two states over a decade», the State Secretary of the Union State said, BelTA informs.

Pavel Borodin said, that about 26 thousand enterprises functioned and five millions workplaces had been created under allied programs in Belarus and Russia. Besides, more than 40 allied programs are carrying out now. They are development of the Union State’s external border, joint overcoming of the consequences of Chernobyl disaster and so on.

Pavel Borodin informed that the budget of the Union State in 2010 was defined in amount of 4.87 billion Russian roubles or about 157.2 million dollars. Thus the nominal amount of the Union State budget, according to the State Secretary, has increased in eight times in comparison with 1998.

«Partner relations of Russia and Belarus are directly reflected in goods turnover of two countries. Goods turnover of Belarus and Russia is third of goods turnover of all post-Soviet territory», Pavel Borodin said.
