Oil Refining Decreased by 21.5% in Belarus in 2010

Belarusian oil refining industry reduced the production volume by 21.5% to Br25.138.6 billion ($8.242 billion) in January-November 2010, compared with the same period of 2009. This was stated by the National Statistical Committee.

However, at the same time production increased by 11.3% in November 2010, compared with November 2009, and by 4.1% compared with October 2010, AFN.

Production of gasoline has decreased by 5.1% to 2.848 million tons for 11 months, diesel oil — by 17.6% to 4.894 million tons, fuel oil — by 29.6% to 3.942 million tons, domestic heating fuels — by 37.8% to 350.2 thousand tons.

Release of lubricating oil increased by 4.2% to 113.8 thousand tons, biodiesel fuel — by 62.1% to 751.7 thousand tons.

The volume of oil for the past eleven months amounted to 1.557 million tons, showing a decrease of 1.2% compared with the same period in 2009.

According to Telegraf, Belarus reduced oil imports by 35.7% in January-October 2010, compared with 11.5 million tons in January-October last year.

Venezuela exported 1.3 million tons of oil in May and October this year. Oil imports from Russia totaled 10.2 million tons in January-October 2010, about 43.2% less than in January-October 2009.
