According to a study, held by the Information and Analytical Center at the Presidential Administration, 50% of Belarusian citizens over 50 years old watch the Belarusian TV channels. Only 8% of young people (18 to 29 years) indicated their interest in the Belarusian television. Moreover, according to statistics, the older age groups with a low level of education give preference to the Belarusian TV channels.
At the same time 30% of Belarusians do not watch TV at all. 19.2% of the population prefers to find news in the Internet. The popularity of radio has also markedly decreased in recent years; only 8.3% of Belarusian chose radio as the primary source of information today, «Narodnaya Volia«.
Belarusian TV channel’s popularity is almost twice lower than ONT channel and NTV-Belarus.
