President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, declared on April 14, that opposition's withdrawal from participation in local elections, scheduled for April 25, is explaining with its confidence in total defeat. The head of state said about that, responding to reporters' questions during his working visit to Mozyr district of Gomel region.

As Belarusian leader believes, «they (opposition representatives — Telegraf) clearly understand that nobody will support them at the elections», BelTA informs.

«But somehow they want to save their faces and begin to gibber about the fact that our elections are supposedly non-democratic, the changes in electoral law are decorative and so on», Alexander Lukashenko said.
