Opposition Negotiates on a Single Candidate

Six contenders for the presidency have decided to hold talks on nominating a single candidate from the opposition. Initial consultations are planned to be held by the opposition politicians on November 1. If they fail to agree on nominating a single candidate, the contenders are ready to discuss a common strategy in the elections.

Thus, the core of the campaign should be a mobilization of the democratic electorate for the peaceful protest, scheduled on December 19, the «Belarusian partisan.»

The participation in the negotiations was confirmed by the leader of the campaign «Tell the truth!» Vladimir Niakliaeu, leader of the campaign «European Belarus» Andrei Sannikov, deputy chairman of the United Civil Party Yaroslav Romanchuk, deputy chairman of the BPF Rigor Kastuseu, co-chair of the organizing committee for the creation of the «Belarusian Christian Democracy» Vital Rymasheuski and leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (People’s Hramada) Nikolai Statkevich.
