Head of the Working Group on Belarus of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Sinikka Hurskainen, reported that PACE intended to watch Belarusian opposition's rally on August 16, 2010. PACE member informed the United Civil Party leader, Anatoly Lebedko, about it.

In addition, as the UCP website informs, Sinikka Hurskainen is going to visit Minsk on August 24. She plans to hold a number of meetings with representatives of Belarusian authorities and opposition here.

«We will inform the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe about tomorrow’s rally. The fact that MPs are interested in this event to mark the kidnapping and murder of opponents of Belarusian authorities is a positive fact for sure. I would consider it as a consistent and principled policy of the Assembly, which adopted a special resolution on kidnapped in due time», Anatoly Lebedko stated on August 15.

As Telegraf previously reported, the chairman of Minsk BPF organization, Viktor Ivashkevich, together with Yauhen Afnahel and Paval Yukhnevich applied to Minsk City Executive Committee to hold a rally and march on August 16 under the slogan «We demand an international investigation of disappeared people cases».
