Increasing rates of export duty on petrol will not affect exports, said Belneftekhim spokeswoman Marina Kostyuchenko. The representative of the group assured that the Belarusian oil refineries Naftan and Mazyr Oil Refinery did not intend to review their plans on gasoline export.

«The price of oil, supplied to the Belarusian refineries, is determined in accordance with a special formula, and the imposition of higher export tax on gasoline is equivalent to the offset in terms of oil pricing in this formula,» explained Marina Kostyuchenko.

The representative of Belneftekhim also stressed that the country’s domestic market remained a priority in the sales for the group, BelTA informs.,

Marina Kostuchenko noted that the media had recently covered a lot of unreliable information on the work of the concern with reference to an «anonymous source in the industry.» In this regard, the representative of Belneftekhim recommended citizens to trust only the information provided to the media by the concern or enterprises’ officials.»

As Telegraf previously reported, May 1, Belarus increased export duties on oil and oil products exported from its territory outside the customs territory of the Customs Union.
