Poland Changes Its Ambassador to Belarus

The current Polish ambassador to Belarus, Henryk Litwin, will leave his post soon, and Polish embassy in Minsk will be headed by a new leader, whose name is unknown. Henryk Litwin himself, as sources in Foreign Ministry of Poland inform, will take the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

As it’s expected, Polish ambassador to Belarus will replace in Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Deputy Minister, Andrzej Kremer, who died in the air crash of Tu-154 with a delegation of Polish government on board near Smolensk on April 10, UCP website informs.

Andrzej Kremer was one of the co-authors of the EU Eastern Partnership program, and he was also involved in resolution of conflict with the Union of Poles in Belarus. After the air crash in Russia, exactly Henryk Litwin began to perform his duties.

Meanwhile, on May 4, bailiffs had inventoried and seized property at Polonika company’s Grodno office, which head is the unofficial leader of the Union of Poles in Belarus, Angelika Borys. It was reported by vice-chairman of the Union, Renata Demenchuk, IA Regnum-Belarus reports referring to the Polish PAP news agency.

Confiscation of the company’s property occurred after that on the eve the court refused to grant the appeal of Polonika on fines for illegal exercise of concert and humanitarian activities.
