Poland Ratified Agreement on Cross Border Travelling with Belarus

Bronislaw Komorowski, the Acting President of Poland and the marshal of the Polish Sejm, at the Polish-Belarusian frontier crossing point Kuznica Bialostocka signed the agreement on cross border travelling with Belarus.

The document provides possibility to the inhabitants of Belarus and Poland, who livie within 30 kilometres distance from border, to cross the borders. By estimation this right will receive about 1.7 million persons of both countries, «European Radio for Belarus» informs.

The Acting President of Poland hopes that the citizens of the neighbor states will be able to visit each other without visas on the nearest Christmas.

At the moment the document is on completion in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. Then it will be transmitted on ratification to parliament.

Bronislaw Komorowski expressed his hope that Belarus would start the process of the document ratification in autumn this year and it would not be procrastinated for a long time.

Two chambers of the Polish parliament have already ratified the Polish-Belarusian agreement on cross border travelling which was signed by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski and his Belarusian colleague Sergei Martynov in January this year in Warsaw.
