Polish Ambassador Promised to Solve "Complicated Issues" in Relations with Minsk

During the official visit in Hrodna on April 8, Polish Ambassador to Belarus Leszek Sherepka met with representatives of the local Polish organizations, including the unofficial Union of Poles in Belarus, headed by Anzelika Orechwo. He stated that he would do everything possible to resolve the "complicated issues" in the Polish-Belarusian relations.

The ambassador also promised to support the Polish organization in Hrodna voblast, resolve difficulties arising between them and representatives of the Belarusian government, said the unofficial Union of Poles.

In turn, representatives of the Polish organizations expressed hope that the work of the new Polish Ambassador would become a new stage in the Belarusian-Polish relations and would help to improve the situation with Polish minority in Belarus.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, having considered the suggestion of House of Representatives on April 7 regarding Poland’s compliance of the law on «Polish Card» with the international law, has concluded that certain provisions of the Polish law does not comply with certain international treaties.
