Political ambitions must not interfere with law enforcement, in particular, such competent and reputable organizations such as Interpol. This was announced by Interior Minister of Belarus Anatoli Kuleshov on May 13 at a meeting with Secretary General of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Ronald Noble.

According to Anatoli Kuleshov, the representative of the Bureau of Interpol in Belarus failed to attend a conference in Malta due to the fact that certain European countries confuse these concepts and have a non-constructive approach to dialogue with Belarus, BelTA informs.

Anatoli Kuleshov said that there has never been any controversy based on politics between Interpol, Belarus and other countries and will never be. «Such an approach is required in the work of combating transnational crime and international terrorism,» believes the MIA head.

«There should be no artificially created obstacles, barriers, erected on trumped-up reasons in the work of Interpol, otherwise the effectiveness of the fight against crime can be significantly reduced, said Anatoli Kuleshov. — If we were guided only by political ambitions, we would not have such results, as today.

During 2010 — early 2011, Belarus announced 107 people as internationally wanted; the location of 59 of them has already become known and 19 have been deported to Belarus.
