Presentation of Romanchuk's Program was Attended by Armed Police Officers

On August 26, in Vileika, the presentation of the election program of the presidential candidate from the United Civil Party, Jaroslav Romanchuk, was held in the presence of armed MIA officers. It was reported by the UCP chairman, Anatoly Lebedko.

35 people gathered at the presentation of pre-election program of the aspirant for presidency from the UCP in Vileika. 15 minutes after the beginning of the election platform of the candidate the house was unexpectedly visited by fire service employees. They explained the visit by the need to check the stove. However, the firemen left as unexpectedly as they appeared. After some time, the building hosted the presentation of Jaroslav Romanchuk’s election program was attended by four policemen.

The police explained that they had received information that in the house «there being cook drugs». Under this pretext, they tried to rewrite all those present, but the people did not agree. Then, another car with MIA officials, armed with guns, appeared.

Nevertheless, despite the presence of machine gunners and clear intention to disrupt the meeting of the UCP, Jaroslav Romanchuk continued the presentation of his election program, the UCP website informs.

According to Anatoly Lebedko, refusal to provide a room for meetings with Jaroslav Romanchuk in Minsk hotel Evropa (Europe), attempts to disrupt the presentation of his program in Soligorsk and events in Vileika leave no doubts that the authorities have decided to impede the presidential candidate from the UCP to meet with people by all the means.
