Presidential Contenders Finish Filing Documents to the CEC

The Central Election Commission completes the reception of documents for action groups' registration of potential presidential candidates on Friday, September 24. By September 23 seven presidential contenders have filed documents to the CEC, while the action group of Viktor Tereshchenko has already been registered by the CEC.

The leader of the civil party «Tell the truth!» Vladimir Niakliaeu, deputy chairman of the United Civil Party, Yaroslav Romanchuk, head of the Belarusian Party «The Greens» Yuri Glushakov, head of foreign economic activity of JSC «Vitebsk fruit and vegetable plant» Sergey Ryzhov, Vitebsk individual entrepreneur Vladimir Provalski and the nurse of the mud baths sanatorium «Chenki»(Gomel region) Natalia Starikova, expect the CEC decisions on their action groups, «Ejednevnik» informs.

Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Sergei Gaydukevich, the leader of the campaign «European Belarus» Andrei Sannikov, deputy chairman of the BPF Ryhor Kastusyou, one of the leaders of the unregistered party «Belarusian Christian Democracy» Vital Rymasheuski, leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party ( People Hramada) Mikola Statkevich, head of the Union «For the modernization» Ales Mikhalevich and former deputy director of the Minsk profit organization but currently unemployed Sergei Ivanov plan to submit documents to the CEC on September 24.

The acting head of the Belarusian State Alexander Lukashenko hasn’t yet officially announced his intention to run for another presidential term.

Thus, 14 potential presidential candidates, besides Viktor Tereshchenko, are expected to file the documents for registration of their action groups.
