Profits of Belarusian Refineries Grew in 2.5 Times

Mazyr and Navapolatsk refineries profits increased in 2.5 times in the first half of 2010 compared with the same period last year (2.4 with an inflation calculation). According to the Ministry of Finance of Belarus, refineries earned Br410.9 billion ($137 million) in January-June 2010 against Br160.1 billion ($57.1 million) over the same period in 2009.

Navapolatsk refinery earned Br250.1 billion, or $83.3 million in the first half of 2010 (Br31.8 billion, or $11.3 million for the same period last year). Thus, its profits grew in 7.3 times.

In turn, Mazyr refinery revenues grew in 1.17 times: from Br128.3 billion ($45.8 million) in January-June 2009 to Br160.8 billion ($53.6 million) in the first half of 2010.
