At the meeting with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, devoted to the development of building sector of the country, the chairman of the National Bank's board of directors Piotr Prokopovich declared, that not less than 50 million square metres of housing will be built in Belarus in 2011-2015. It will allow Belarus to achieve the level of the advanced countries, banker said.
The chairman of the National Bank emphasized that in present five years 26 million square metres of housing will be built in the country. This is in 1,6 times more than in previous five years, BelTA informs.
Piotr Prokopovich is assured that quality in building sector should be basically changed, because it determines directly productivity and remuneration of labour.
The banker noticed that nowadays productivity in building sector of Belarus is on 30 % less, than in Turkey or Poland, and almost in 2,8 times less, than in Austria or Sweden. In five years it should be increased in 1,5 times.
Building codes in Belarus are normal, but nobody carries out them, the chairman of the National Bank emphasized. He also added that in this connection authorities should give heed to strict observance of discipline on performance of building codes and documents.
Piotr Prokopovich is assured that in Belarus it is necessary to introduce practice not to pay for the building works until all lacks are eliminated and demanded quality is provided.
