Prosecutors File a Criminal Case Against the Management of Neman Plant

Basing on materials of the head department for combating organized crime and corruption (GUBOiK) of Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Grodno regional prosecutor's office filed a criminal case against the management of Neman glassworks. While studying finance and business activity of the enterprises, it revealed that as a result of its management functioning, the plant had losses counted tens of millions of dollars.

It is about the period of 2007-2009, when the company was provided the state financial aid, Ezhednevnik informs.

According to preliminary data, the general director of Neman plant, Igor Batyan, and his deputy for economy, Inna Klishevich, are accused of that in the noted period they caused the company a damage estimated at 73 billion rubles (or 24.3 million dollars). It considers the circumstances of the state aid use at the enterprise.

The CEO of the plant and his deputy are charged with committing a crime under part 3 article 424 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (abuse of power committed by official holding a senior post, execution of function on deregulation or privatization of state property, or resulted serious consequences).
