Public Sector Wages to Grow in Belarus by 35% to 2011

The average monthly salary in public sector of Belarus in 2011 will rise by 35% compared to 2010. According to Finance Minister, Andrei Kharkovets, budget expenses for 2011 were formed, taking one of the top priorities — growth of the population's incomes — into account and allow to guarantee wage increases by 35%.

Among other priorities stressed by the Minister there is an active support of government programs and innovation development of industries, economy of budget funds, execution of international obligations to repay public debt, BelTA informs.

«In 2011 we are to reach the pre-crisis growth rates of the budget sector», Andrei Kharkovets underlined.

Budget revenues are planned to be increased by 18.1% in 2011

Revenues of consolidated budget of Belarus in 2011 are planned to reach Br54.5 trillion, what is 118.1% to the expected level of 2010.

Revenue structure will not change. The share of VAT is 35%, profit tax — 10%, income from foreign economic activity — 13% excise tax — 10%, the Minister of Finance informed.

Expenses of consolidated budget in 2011 are planned to reach Br60.5 trillion. Budget deficit is estimated at Br6 trillion, or 3% of GDP, what corresponds to international standards, Andrei Kharkovets said.
