Regular Oil Deliveries through Odessa-Brody Pipeline to Start in 2011, BOC

Belarusian Oil Company plans to begin regular oil shipments to Belarus using Odessa-Brody pipeline in 2011. Contract for hydrocarbons pumping to Belarus was signed with "Ukrtransnafta" up to 2013 inclusive. "Volumes will be agreed additionally," the representative of the company noted.

BOC stressed that oil pipeline transit to Belarus across the territory of Ukraine is cheaper than rail transportation, BelTA informs.

In general, the company welcomed the results of trial oil pumping through Odessa-Brody and «Friendship» pipelines to Mazyr refinery, which was held during November 20-23. «While pumping the interests of other oil suppliers and consumers, using «Druzhba» pipeline for oil transporting, were not affected,  BOC said.

There was No Swap, BOC  

The company also informed that the oil for trial flow was similar in quality to the one to fill the pipeline. «Other oil varieties to pump are currently being negotiated,» the oil company added.

BOC representative Andrei Sinitsa, responsible for work with the press, said that «there was no swap.» That is, BOC bought a tanker with Russian oil from the international trader Glencore, drove it to Odessa and pumped 80 thousand tons of Russian Urals crude to Mazyr refinery through two oil pipelines. «Absolutely,» BNK representative confirmed, AFN.

According to Telegraf, Odessa-Brody trial oil pumping to Belarus began in the direct mode in a marine oil terminal «Pivdenny» on November 20. All necessary customs procedures, including an independent examination (verification of the quality and quantity of oil delivered to the load terminal) to start a run of 80 thousand tons of oil had been promptly carried out the day before.
