Reserve Assets of Belarus Fell to $5 Billion, IMF

International reserve assets of Belarus, calculated by the method of the International Monetary Fund, decreased by 11% to $5.03 billion over 2010. They fell by 11.8% in December, the information department of the National Bank informed. 

According to the National Bank, international reserve assets of Belarus to the national definition grew by 2.9% to $6.15 billion last year, BelTA informs.

The largest share in the structure of the international reserves of Belarus as of January 1 belongs to the reserve assets in foreign currency ($2.82 billion, or 46%) and precious metals and stones ($1.8 billion, or 29.3%).
 
The foreign currency assets increased by 11.8% during 2009, the volume of precious metals and stones — by 58.7%. Other assets amounted to $1.52 billion, or 24.7%. They decreased by 34% in 2010.
