Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Cairo clarifies the situation with the Belarusian citizens, being on holiday in Egypt, due to the deteriorating situation in the country. "By the available information, current disorders in the country have not affected our citizens," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh on January 31.

«We have implemented a set of measures to assess the real situation and plan possible actions in order to assist the Belarusian tourists,» the diplomat noted.

As it became known to Telegraf correspondent, the Foreign Ministry of Belarus encourages citizens to «refrain from visiting Egypt until a complete normalization of the situation, which is now worsening there.» Meanwhile, the Belarusian embassy in Egypt is working normally.

As Telegraf previously reported, rioting began in Egypt on January 26, which was caused by the deteriorating economic situation in the country, the growth of corruption, as well as President Hosni Mubarak’s 30 years in power.
