Drastic decline of water level is observed in Belarusian rivers because of abnormally hot weather. The intensity of water abatement reaches eight centimetres a day. It was announced on August 11 by the head of meteorological forecasts service of the Republican hydro meteorological center, Dmitry Ryabov.

Critical situation is emerging in the area of Vitebsk and Polotsk on Western Dvina River at Surazh section, as well as in the area of Gomel on Sozh. Water level decreased below the danger line here. According to experts, it may complicate river transport’s use.

In hydrometcenter they also reported that water level decline will be particularly noticeable on Berezina river in the area of Borisov in coming days, as well as on Pina river around the town of Pinsk. The figures may be dangerously low for shipping here, BelTA informs.

As of water temperature, then the experts reported that in majority of rivers it was up to +19-26 ° C, in Minsk Sea — +24 ° C, in Vileyka water reservoir — +25 ° C.
