On July 6, about 23:00, in the village of Dovsk, Rogachev district, Gomel region, district police inspector, staying in official vehicle, fired a service weapon and seriously wounded a 22-year old woman, local resident. As Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, police colonel Anatoly Kurilets, stated, on the fact there initiated a criminal case under part 1 articles 14, 139 of the Criminal Code (attempt to murder). Primary check in Rogachev police department has found that the training in district police department was not organized at the appropriate level, officers coming to service were not always instructed.
«It’s a tragedy for the family of the victim and real shame on the whole system of internal affairs bodies», Anatoly Kurilets said. However, he added that this case was single instance.
«The system of police officers training, who are often in a stressful situation, has not given such «failures» for a long time. In coming days, the actions of officials, who were engaged in it, will be given the tough and principled assessment basing on the checks of general department of own security of Interior Ministry», Deputy Minister of Interior informed.
