Russia handed over a piece of land near Sochi to Belarus, where there happened to be a piece of Gazprom pipe. Agreement on the allocation of 16.32 hectares of Krasnaya Polyana village to Belarus and the equal piece of Minsk land to Russia was signed "for the development of friendly relations" in May 2009.

Russia ratified the document in July 2010; the parties have agreed to enter upon their land within three months.

When the Belarusian side had arranged their own plots, Gazprom pipe was found under one of them. It was a distribution network segment of several hundred meters to provide Olympic facilities in Sochi with gas, said Korrespondent.net.

As reported in Gazprom, inter-settlement gas pipeline Adler — Krasnaya Polyana — Estosadok is in question. Gazprom is most likely to shift the pipeline because of this situation.
